Introducing ACE Global and Centenary Bank to the Warehouse Receipt System for Loans

On the months of September & October 2023, UWRSA team went out to inspect for Quality, ICT compliance & readiness of 3 (Three) Main warehouses, who want to become Licensed public warehouses under the supervision of UWRSA. These warehouses are

Agroways (U) LTD in Jinja,   Aponye (U) LTD in Mubende,   Kamwenge Community Development Project in Kamwenge District.

We had joint training with ACE Global who are the Collateral Managers of the Warehouses and Centenary Bank officials on how to Credit Electronic Warehouse Receipts by encumbrance using the eWRS software.

The Objective of the team was to Re Do Training in eWRS creation and established how Centenary Bank will use warehousing as an add-on to its Banking System.

At the end of this exercise, the Collateral Managers and Centenary Bankers are now able to provide the services to these Warehouse Keepers in issuing warehouse receipts, Crediting Finance on Encumbered receipts to Depositors, Commodity Exchanges and Warehouses under UWRSA who are the Warehouse Receipt System regulators.
